Ganbanyoku

Yesterday, I went to Ganbanyoku with my friend. Ganbanyoku is rock bath. In Ganbanyoku, I lie down on the rock in warmly room like sauna.
I'll introduce you way of Ganbanyoku. First, I lie on my face for 5 minutes, after that, I lie on my back for 10 minutes. 15 minutes later, I go out the room, and I take a rest, and I drink a water in cool room for 5 minutes. I repeat this process for 1 hour and a half an hour.
I was sweating all over. Clothes I was wearing changed color by sweat!; I felt like flow the dirt from my whole body with sweat. I was able to feel refreshed. Also, I was very very tired like after doing sport. Therefore, yesterday, I was able to sleep soundly. I thought I want to go to there one more time! If I can go to Ganbanyoku everyday, I think my skin's condition will be very good.

You Can't Sleep, If You Count Sheep!?


It is often said that when we can't sleep easily, it become easy to sleep by counting sheep. I don't know whether this story is said in foreign country... But in Japan, this story very famous. Do you know the origin of this story? This is because just word's similarity. Sheep similar to sleep vaguely. It it just wit or gag. Whoever told us that?? In the past, when I couldn't sleep easily by tension, I counted sheep to about 200. But I didn't become to feel like sleeping.....
How about you? Do you have a experience to sleep easily by counting sheep? Is it difference among individuals?
It is bad to think something or counting number when we sleep. We can't relax because our brain work. I suggest you that you teach your brain that it is OK to sleep with relaxing mind and body.

The Way of Breath


Today, I'll introduce the way of breath for relaxing.
1. You get in futon, lie on your back, and relax without thinking.
2. You inhale the air from nose with taking time slowly.
Please image the feeling which you breathe clean the air in body.
3. After you inhale to limit, you stop breathing for 3 seconds.
4. You expire breath with taking time slowly.
Please image the feeling which you take out the air from toe.
You can lose power of body with breath.If you try this way of breath over and over again, you can relax mind and body, and sleepiness tempt you.
By the way, this picture is picture in the book about yoga. I can relax to look such a picture surrounded by nature.

Relationship between bath and sleeping


If you take a bath little before you go to bed, it is easy to get to sleep. Our body temperature rise by taking a bath, but this temperture fall gradually after bath. But we can't sleep immediately after bath. It is good to get in futon after our body temperture fall. Just time to get in futon is from 30minutes to one hour after bath. You should use the time for relaxing on the bed from bath to sleeping. At this time, you must not think about the today's event or tomorrow. Today already finished, and you can think about tomorrow when tomorow come. You need relaxing with deep breathing for good sleep.

Sandalwood


Aromatherapy-Sandalwood


I tried ''Aromatherapy'' in this weekend. I used picture's appliance. I'll explain this appliance's machanism. I put candle on down part, and I put aromaoil on upper plate. Candle's fire heat aromaoil, smell of oil fill the room. I was able to go to sleep soon. I forgot to turn the light off, because I slept in no time. Also, I slept for about 11 hours.
This aromatherapy is ''Sandalwood.'' Sandalwood is kind of plant called '' Byakudan'' in Japan. The characteristic of smell is sweet and woody. Web says that this araroma is often used in temple in India. Sandalwood makes us relax and calm. It shows effect when we are tensed, and we are uncomfortable. But, if we use it when we have a heavy heart, it may make us more droop.

Pillow for Eyes



The picture is ''eye pillow.'' Yesterday, I went to bed with putting this eye pillow on my eyes. Eye pillow makes my eyes close naturally. Also, this eye pillow has lavender's smell. I often hered that aromatherapy is good for sleeping well. I could sleep with having a smell of lavender. I checked lavender's effect on the Internet. I found the site about a good sleep. And the report said that lavender has relax influences, and it has been used for relieving sleeplessness since a long time ago. I think I want to try various aromatherapy.
